from reverb10:
Wisdom. What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out?
I’m a thinker by nature — a strong INTJ — and so I approach most decisions as problems to be researched, with criteria to be measured and weighted. In other words, I’m really good at some kinds of decisions and can get in my own way for others.
Wisdom, however, doesn’t always come from thinking. Or rather, I’d say that it doesn’t usually come from just thinking. Some of the wisest things I decided or did over the past year stemmed from a larger shift in my approach, an opening up to intuition.
Precisely because it’s not my first response, I have to slow down in order to engage my intuition. I have to be willing to sit with uncertainty, with not knowing. With not having things pinned down to a schedule or a spreadsheet.
That’s a rich space of possibility. I’m curious to see where it takes me in the year to come.
